Dual Monitor Support

I've just purchased TW1.2, after losing a long battle to get what I wanted out of excel. There are a few features that I really liked about my Excel kludge that I would love to see in a future version of TW -- things that had kept me working with excel for so long.

One thing I like to do is have a separate monitor for my PCs to see while we're at the table. I find that giving them a view of the initiative order helps keep everyone aware of upcoming turns, etc -- keeps people from being surprised when their turn comes along, so they can have an action prepared.

But, to do that, with the current TW, I either have to accept that they're going to be able to see things that I don't want them to see (current hit point totals on their opponents, the results of "secret" spot checks and will saves, etc) or just not use those fields.

What I did in excel was set up the second monitor and open a second spreadsheet in that window -- then use equations, etc., in excel to populate the fields in the player's view with the data that I wanted them to see from my more detailed DM's sheet. It worked pretty well, but required constant fiddling to keep it working.

So, my first suggestion would be to be able to open a "player's view" window of TW that would display only certain fields -- let's say the name, type, initiative, status, and effects fields. And it would do that in a window that is bigger and easier to read than the DM's window (remember, players will need to read this from the far side of the table).

I imagine that's not trivial to put together. A second choice would be to have the capability of turning off some of the fields in the display. If I'm not going to use the spot, listen, and will save part of the display, it would be nice to turn those columns off.

And . . . other options might also be nice. For instance, it would be nice to be able to enter the AC of NPCS and PCs alike. That could be a custom field or a new, specific field.

Thanks! I am really looking forward to taking Turn Watcher out for it's first spin this weekend!

Available in 1.3

This feature is now available in 1.3 and following versions.

There is a "problem" in 1.3 where you need to edit your characters and monsters and define their alias otherwise the names won't appear in the HUD (Heads Up Display).
