2 Questions about Turn Watcher

Hi,
I just stumbled upon your software (by means of the Paizo Forums) and tested the Demo. Now I have three questions before I consider to buy the software:
- upon putting the article in the shopping cart, the 1-year upgrade service for 5$ is added automatically. Is this really necessary? I hope I get bug fixes for free anyway and I thus only forego new features, if I do not buy the service. And how frequently are there new versions?
- On the mainpage, a feature is advertised which lets you keep track of ongoing effects and notifies you, when they wear off. In the demo this is not included...is this due to the demo being v1.1 and not 1.2? (as this would be the most needed feature for my games)
- By buying the software, will I get the Linux and Windows version at the same time or will I have to chose?

Thanks, and sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but I could not find any better.

Hi Belfur,

Thanks for checking out our demo. Nice to know where you came from, by the way.

No, the 1-year upgrade is not mandatory--you can remove it from your cart if you don't want it. No matter which option you specify, you will always receive bug fixes at no extra charge.

However, we do make releases with the most requested features every couple of months. For example, those users that bought version 1.1 get to download version 1.2 for no extra charge, as long as they have the year's upgrade and it has not yet expired.

We recommend to our customers that they purchase the year's of updates so they can stay on top of the new features as we roll them out. $5 for the year is a pretty good deal, if you look at it that way. Very Happy

Yes, this is correct. The Demo version is 1.1, and will not contain any future upgrades--the demo is just to show you how you can use it effectively to run your combat encounters.

When you purchase and download version 1.2, you will have the effects tracking feature at your disposal.

When you buy a copy of Turn Watcher, you will get access to all of the platforms we support. Presently, we only support Windows and Linux, but soon we will be releasing a version for Macintosh OS/X. As we make that platform available, those that bought version 1.2 will also have access to that download as well.

This is the right place to ask such questions, so you did fine! Very Happy In fact, as you use the software, use this forum to post feature requests that you feel you would like to see in the next release of Turn Watcher.

Enjoy, and let us know how Turn Watcher made running your game more enjoyable!
