Vista 64

I just downloaded and installed Turnwatcher 1.4.  I'm running Vista x64.  Each time I start Turnwatcher it crashes. I tried running Turnwatcher in compatibility mode, but it did not work.

I started using Turnwatcher version 1.2 again and there have been no problems.  I would prefer to use version 1.4, however since it has functionality that I require.

Thanks.

Robert

Vista 64bit

Hi Robert,

We don't currently have a Vista system that's 64bits. But we are investigating. I will let you know what we find once we have a more definitive answer.

Thank you.

Version file conversion problem?

Hi Robert,

You may be running in a problem with converting your existing files from 1.2 to 1.4. We usually only test for one version increment (1.2 -> 1.3 -> 1.4)

If you would please try to rename (delete or move would work too) the Turn Watcher configuration file from here:

C:\Users\<YourLoginName>\AppData\Roaming\Made to Order Software Corporation\turnwatcher\turnwatcher.conf

(where <YourLoginName> is the name you use to sign onto Windows Vista)

Then try installing & running 1.4 again and let us know whether it works or not.

Thank you for your patience!

Work around for this case

It turns out that it has nothing to do with Vista64, at least as far as we can tell, but perhaps a conversion from the version 1.2 config file. Turn Watcher tries to import the older configuration file but in that case looks like it crashes. We are looking into why this happens, but for now, just follow the instructions earlier in this thread posted by Alexis. This does not seem to be an issue with version 1.3 configuration files.
