TW 1.3 - HUD Does not display Names

Hey -

I'm very excited about the HUD feature, but when I installed my new version of the software I found that the HUD does not display anything in the name column. When I step through the initiatives in the main window the highlighted row moves as it should, and the monster/PC icon and % health column information shows up correctly, but the names are not there.

Are there settings I need to change?

Hi, sorry for the confusion! Make sure your character is highlighted in the main window. Click the "Edit" button. You will notice a new field called "Public Name". Add some text into there and you will see that appear on the player HUD.

We opted to have the public name default to blank because we felt it might not serve the DM to divulge important facts about the monster to the players. For example, you might have put "Fire Giant" but wanted to make the players guess as to what the creature actually was. Make them do Knowledge of The Planes checks and what not. Very Happy

Let me know if you have any other questions! Wink

That's AWESOME.

That's AWESOME. (I tested it and it works, of course.)

This feature has just made a quantum leap for TW's usability for my game. Thanks VERY MUCH for this new feature.
